COLUMBUS, OH - The #2 Ohio State Buckeyes couldn't find an answer to Heisman candidate Baker Mayfield and the #5 Oklahoma Sooners as they fell to their Big 12 foes 31-16 on Saturday night at Ohio Stadium.

The Buckeyes (1-1) forced two first-half turnovers but were only able to get three points out of them as both teams went into the half tied at three.

Mayfield and the Sooners (2-0) flipped the switch in the second half answering a Buckeye score by J.K. Dobbins with a drive that ended with a Mayfield-to-Flowers 36 yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 10.

Ohio State answered again with Nuernberger's second field goal of the game, but Oklahoma answered again scoring 21-straight points on two Mayfield touchdown passes and a Smallwood 3 yd touchdown run to seal the game.

Mayfield finished the night going 27-for-35 passing for 386 yards and three touchdowns while J.T. Barrett completed 19-of-35 passes for only 183 yards while throwing one interception.

The Buckeyes will look to bounce back on Saturday afternoon as they take on Army at Ohio Stadium.
