Lexington Minutemen Outlast Orrville Red Riders in Shootout

LEXINGTON, OH - Lexington Minutemen won an exciting shootout against the Orrville Red Riders 48- 35.  Lexington started slowly while the Riders raced out to an early 14 - 0 in the 1st quarter.  Minutemen QB Stover then went to work.  The standout junior scored 5 TDs rushing and added a 15-yard strike for another score to Mitch Dummitt.  Junior RB Ben Vore returned from injury to lead Lex rushing with 174 yards on 12 carries.  Devon Stroud rounded out the scoring for the home team with a 9 yard TD run of his own.  

Orrville was lead by quarterback Logan Domer who rushed for 67 yards on 10 carries.  Two freshman RBs carried the scoring load for the Riders.  Marquell Parks and Sheron Phipps combined for 102 yards rushing and 2 TDs on the ground.  Phipps ran back a kickoff return 85 yards for a TD as Orrville continually hurt themselves with over 100 yards in penalties.
