MANSFIELD, OH- The Ultimate Fighter reality TV series is arguably the best thing to happen to the sport of mixed martial arts. The first season of the show was a resounding hit with viewers in 2005, helping MMA reach mainstream America at a level it had failed to achieve before.

The success of The Ultimate Fighter has kept it going for 25 seasons now with the most recent wrapping up last week. A Mansfield native was a cast member on the show and is amongst the most infamous characters in TUF history.

Local welterweight pro Julian "Nitrane" Lane was invited to compete on season 25 of TUF, nicknamed "Redemption", rounding out a crew of former cast members getting a second shot at winning the competition and a contract with the UFC. The 29-year-old Mansfield resident appeared on season 16 of TUF in 2012 where his confrontations in the house combined with a drunken episode that coined the now notorious phrase "Let me bang bro", made him a compelling prospect in the sport.

Now the veteran of nearly 20 professional fights and a growing name in MMA with the exposure from two stints on national TV, Lane believes he is entering the prime of his career and plans to capitalize on his growing fame. Julian did not win season 25 of TUF, but received exceptional training and offers from MMA promotions both in the states and overseas to compete in their organizations. He plans to put his 11-6-1 mark on the line soon with intentions to be very active over the next few years.

Lane sat down with WMFD's Brian Skowronski for an exclusive interview that aired on this week's episode of The Sports Buzz. During their conversation, Julian talks about his second experience on The Ultimate Fighter, the differences between his two appearances on the show, his future MMA plans and so much more.
