ONTARIO, OH - 21-Year-Old Donovan Ruckman drove down Park Avenue West in Ontario, passing the Humane Society of Richland County and Steve's Dakota Grill.

While driving, he noticed a car driving westbound.

"I kinda slowed down a little bit, I had a bad feeling about the car." Donovan Ruckman said. "When I was about 30 meters, 20 meters from it, I saw him start to pull out in front of me, and by that point... there was nothing I could do."

Police say the car failed to yield as it was turning left into the AMVET'S parking lot, striking the motorcycle driven by Donovan Ruckman of Ontario.

Ruckman suffered a shattered left femur, a broken right femur, a broken middle finger, a sprained wrist, and suffered damage to all tendons on his left hand. He also suffered a concussion and two chipped vertebrae.

Ruckman is currently going through physical therapy and is now able to bend his right leg 140 degrees, and his left leg 120 degrees.

Ruckman says he wants to deliver a message to those who drive cars and motorcycles to be careful and mindful while driving.

"Don't push yourself, do what you can do. Be smart. That's the only thing you can do, is be smart when you are on the road whether you are a car driver or a bike driver." Ruckman said. "What I experienced is something no one should have to experience."
